Turbo help?

If i could get a turbo from a car, JUST the turbo, technically, if i got a boost controller and made all my own parts (pipes, tubes, etc.) to fit it on my car, wouldn%26#039;t that be the same as getting like a greddy turbo kit for example?

thanks for the help
Turbo help?
Pretty close. The Greddy will be much better though since it is engineered not fabricated together.
Turbo help?
nope. they figure all the diameters on the tubing to get the right amount of boost. And you will need a tune to run the tubo. And the kits usually come with a boxed tune for the application. Custom tuning can sometimes be more than the tubo kit. But if you have the know how to get it down...its worth a shot.
Reply:ehh not exactly

your still gonna need a wastegate.. and i hope to god you dont plan on running a turbo setup without an intercooler.

not to mention a turbo manifold

you can custom bend all your piping and make your own downpipe too if you can weld

ive seen many turbo kits custom fabricated and they turn out nice and original..

go grab a turbo out of a junkyard..saabs..dsm..dodge..audi all have turbocharged vehicles. rebuild it if you have to..its easy and cheap

also try to grab an intercooler

get some injectors..tune your ecm..get some gauges.. and run this kit the RIGHT way...not some ghetto way thats gonna blow up your motor
Reply:in total if you did all the work yourself it would cost A LOT cheaper. the Greddy turbo kits are usually for people that don%26#039;t want to do much of the work, but don%26#039;t confuse a boost controller with a waist gate. I have seen tons of people get piping down and all they really had to buy was a BOV, turbo , waistgate, and ecu tuning.
